There was a lot to convey in the opening of the cover story of the September 2022 issue of CSP magazine. Our exclusive cover story of BP oil company rethinking its strategy, and indeed, the convenience-store industry's strategy, couldn't lead with a stock image of a BP gas station. The whole point is that the c-store and oil company of the future will be built around something other than the gas pump. At the same time, BP is getting back into the business of operating convenience stores, a practice it had largely abandoned more than a decade before.
CSP Senior Art Director Victoria Rodriguez worked with Illustrator Jacey Tec to build a c-store image featuring BP's primary store brands and logos, complemented by the tools that are allowing the Big Oil company to rethink its entire reason for existing. Those "tools" include delivery services, electric-vehicle charging, hydrogen power, windmills, solar power, and, yes, lots of shades of green. :)
