Entry Essay: 
The first episode of The POWER Podcast was released on Sept. 21, 2017. Through the end of 2024, 178 episodes have been produced, all individually scheduled, recorded, edited, and published by one individual, Aaron Larson, executive editor of POWER magazine. Guests of the show mainly come from the electric power industry, including many CEOs and other experts from the various power sectors such as nuclear, solar, hydro, energy storage, and others. The podcast has developed a strong following over the years with many listeners keenly interested in learning about new technology and trends developing within the power generation industry. Each episode is accompanied by an article posted on POWER's website that features important highlights from the interview. In many cases, the article gets as much or more interest than the podcast itself, though both often do very well in terms of engagement with POWER's audience. In the episode presented here, Mycle Schneider, an independent international analyst on energy and nuclear policy, and coordinator, editor, and publisher of the annual World Nuclear Industry Status Report (WNISR), discusses findings from his most recent 513-page report and provides his insight on prospects for the future of the nuclear industry. Schneider's views are somewhat controversial within the nuclear industry, which makes this an interesting episode for many listeners and a worthy entry for the ASBPE awards.
