Description of the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
The ACR Bulletin supports the American College of Radiology’s Core Purpose by covering topics relevant to the practice of radiology and by connecting the College with members, the wider specialty, and others. By empowering
members to advance the practice, science, and professions of radiological care, the Bulletin aims to support high-quality patient-centered healthcare.
In 2023, the Bulletin published a special section commemorating the 100th anniversary of the ACR by acknowledging a century of excellence and setting the scene for the next 100 years of accomplishments. Bulletin staff worked closely working closely with the ACR Centennial Steering Committee and the ACR Centennial Future Committee on articles chronicling the ACR’s rich history, significant milestones, and future initiatives. Articles in this section showcase how the College is measuring its progress and moving the needle in creating a diverse workforce in the radiology professions, and highlights how longtime advocacy for women’s breast screening has
led to improvements in other medical specialties. The College's leaders share thoughts about what the
ACR means to them and how the perception of radiology has evolved over the past 100 years. One particular piece (with an accompanying podcast episode) highlights the College's advocacy efforts to get radiology into Medicare Part B. The issue wraps up by asking members to envision what the ACR could look like in the next 100 years.
