The daily newsletter is an important traffic driver for AdExchanger stories. But it’s also a standalone package that combines the newsroom’s reporting and analysis with our original artwork into a perceptive, digestible and often humorous journal of the industry news of the day.

These two newsletters, published a week apart, are apt examples – although the headline puns are as good every day, we guarantee it.

In each, the artwork is an original comic designed and commissioned by our staff drawn from a rich archive going back many years. The original art and particular AdExchanger feel (the font was also commissioned by the founder and original publisher) are important elements of why people feel so attached to our news brand.

The newsletter “blurbs,” as the team calls them internally, also highlight stories that aren’t necessarily covered elsewhere in the press and contextualizes them for our audience.

Ecommerce platform Quartile, for instance, had a quiet fundraising round, but is part of an interesting trend of ad tech experts and agencies homing in on ecommerce advertising. We grabbed an original quote from a contact at the startup and reported it in the newsletter. Similarly, the IAB’s announcement that agencies are now members would have gone unnoticed. But we spot the news that isn’t published elsewhere and explain how a seemingly minor occurrence is part of an important chain of events.
