Cloud computing is a driving force in IT, and the global pandemic has only accelerated adoption and the need for training in cloud technologies. Our team of editors recognized the importance of this topic in 2020 and set out to build a collection of stories that covered the topic from multiple import angles.
We researched, wrote, assigned and edited stories that provided insights into how to prepare for certification tests for the two largest cloud platforms – Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Readers can find this type of information in lots of places, so we focused on making these stories as approachable and informational as possible.
We also had stories that took a step back and put the certification push into context. This includes a piece on how to evaluate the certifications our readers should pursue. Another one looked at how the pandemic and certifications are impacting IT professionals' salaries and job prospects. And a third piece put looked at the issue from the perspective of employers, who need to train or hire staff to fill these roles.
Collectively, these pieces involved a great deal of research, analysis and reporting. We also built infographics to support each article. And while there are overarching themes, each one stands alone as a piece that is important to different segments of our readership.
