Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
To stay competitive companies must provide employees with a good experience at work — including what goes into creating that experience, why upskilling for the jobs of tomorrow is key, how to enact workforce transformation, how to get middle management on board, and why companies need to take steps to ensure the talent they hire is less likely to quit.
“Good work,”by people and organization experts Bhushan Sethi and Carol Stubbings outlines why today’s employees want jobs that are intrinsically rewarding and that fit their values. And though the meaning of work is different for each person, companies that act now to address these demands will gain a lasting competitive advantage.
In “A strategist's guide to upskilling,” Laurent Probst and Christian Scharf acknowledge that part of a “good work” experience involves ensuring talent is prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. To get employees ready for the jobs of tomorrow, upskilling is only part of the answer as Deniz Caglar and Carrie Duarte point out in their article “10 principles of workforce transformation.”
As businesses put trillions of dollars into transformations, leaders also need a plan to ensure that middle management is helping make the most of the investment, explain Carol Stubbings, Darren Homer, and John Francis in “Thawing the frozen middle.” In a final article, “The turnover remedy,” authors Augusto Giacoman and Deniz Caglar explain why it's important to understand what drives employee turnover and address those elements in a way that will make new hires less likely to quit.
