In Fear of a Green Nation, Editor Derek Prall examines the case for marijuana legalization from historic, economic, social and legal perspectives, objectively presenting the case using compelling resources, interviews and case studies.

While myriad articles have been written on this subject in recent years, Prall sought to tailor this piece for American City & County’s specific audience of local government leaders specifically. These are the individuals who will be making the decisions about marijuana, so it’s important they understand the history of marijuana’s use, who uses it and how communities can benefit from its legalization. Sources for this story ranged from leading marijuana educators to law enforcement officials to top local government administrators who have seen the evolution of the legalization movement up close.
