Supplier Global Resource (SGR) is read by North American-based manufacturers, importers and suppliers of promotional products – companies that make or sell merchandise that businesses then imprint with their logos and incorporate into marketing programs. The audience, mainly comprised of owners of small- to mid-sized businesses, is searching for: new products to source from overseas; strategies that will help them deal with their global partners; sales and marketing tactics; solutions to HR and legal issues; and other topics that will streamline their operations, bolster their bottom line and sharpen their competitiveness. SGR is the primary news and information source for this demographic.

Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:

Having met at the University of Miami, the three young – all 30 years old – owners of Miami-based SoBe Promos have in a very short period of time grown their company 1,040% over the course of three years, garnered ASI’s Fastest Growing Distributor of the Year award, and completely upended the way traditional sales have been done in the very old-school promo products industry. By utilizing social media and their vast array of college contacts, the triumvirate at the helm of this upstart entity were named to Inc. magazine’s annual list of Fastest Growing Private Companies. But it’s their distinctive personalities – each one with different strengths – that set them apart. From the stoic and preternaturally entrepreneurial CEO, Spencer Kramer, to the gregarious and loquacious head of sales, Chris Ferriter, to the CFO life of the party (complete with a handle of Fireball in his desk for impromptu Friday happy hours) Scott Latimer, these young mavericks are shaking up a very staid industry that desperately needed it.
