Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
The "6 Types of Lawyer Movies" came to us in story form as one of the most novel approaches to the relation of cinema and the law. Picking up author Thane Rosenbaum’s mantle, the desinger chose to have illustrated a pack of cinematic trading cards as a means to depict each trope. Working with illustrator Steven P. Hughes, the designer directed the full concept, with the opening spread containing the original packet of cards and stick of bubble gum and then each spread having two cards turning and rotating at various angles in order to keep the reader engaged. The designer suggested each character leave the boundary of the card, giving each illustration life and three-dimensionality. To make the correlation to film more complete, the designer sourced actual poster art to accompany the layout and placed them within a film reel on two of the spreads. He then wrote captions to list the actors and the films being portrayed, adding further weight to the piece. The end result is a fantastic journey for our readers, which doesn’t end with just the publication because in the gallery online, each illustration is also animated.
