For more than 35 years, Government Technology magazine has brought solutions to state and local government IT leaders and practitioners, empowering this often unsung community whose work underpins much of what drives the public sector’s charge of serving the people. In 2023, in addition to continuing our long tradition of print publication, we began producing a digital edition of the magazine to accompany and enhance our coverage.

Accessible to anyone with the link and serving our increasingly digital state and local government audience, the flipbook format of Government Technology allows online readers to experience much the same look and feel — as well as the unmatched writing and reporting — as the print edition. The online magazine offers additional benefits as well: Links to extended interviews with gov tech experts like chief information officers, video bylines for our editorial staff and animated art all enhance the reader experience.

The three issues here, covering workforce, education technology and cybersecurity, offer a wide-ranging look at some of the most critical issues facing state and local government IT leadership and staff today. It is only fitting that as Government Technology magazine pushes to bring our readers the information they need to continue providing a more digital, accessible experience for constituents, we do the same by evolving our publication to meet them where they are.
