Insurance Journal Magazine has been providing property/casualty insurance industry news and information for 100 years. While other P/C publications serve the broader industry, Insurance Journal’s print magazine serves the independent agency audience which includes agency owners and principals, sales producers and support staff. Published 22 times per year, Insurance Journal Magazine focuses on content and resources to help agencies improve their operations and business strategies.
In each issue, Vice President of Content Andrea Wells and her team share research, reporting and strategic insights that go beyond the latest news and business cycles. The content covers industries agents serve that are growing and changing, the risks they face, and the insurance and risk management solutions agents can recommend to them. Each issue also offers interviews with agency owner peers, management consultants and insurance coverage specialists. Regular columnists advise on sales, leadership, emerging risks, and business and workforce trends.
The March 6 issue targets a critical industry segment for insurance agencies – small businesses. In the issue’s cover story, William Rabb told the story of serious coverage gaps within the small business space, including exposures with cyber risks, leasehold coverages and business interruption concerns.
The March 20 issue tackles another important client to IJ’s readers – restaurants. In a post-pandemic world, restaurants faced new risks and exposures as this sector evolved to stay afloat. This feature by Andrea Wells offers an inside look at how the insurance market evolved to address changing conditions.
The April 3 issue focuses on risks and exposures agents must address with their clients in the real estate industry. This issue addresses the challenging insurance market for commercial properties, claims trends hitting architects and engineers, risk management concerns faced by condo association boards, and opportunities in the growing multi-family affordable housing market.
