We periodically do "____ Horror Stories" for different pests, where industry insiders share their gnarly experiences with inspection or control. For rodents, we wanted the cover illustration to evoke a low-budget horror movie from the 1970s. It would be a sight that would be awful for the average consumer, but a reader would take a knowing look and say "Yep, that's any given Thursday on the job" (if they were recounting old fish stories, so to speak, which happens a lot at industry conferences). Are these rodents anatomically correct? More or less, and we took artistic liberties with their coloring for maximum terror. But there is no doubt from this cover that what you're about to find inside this issue are tales that would make even the most stalwart exterminators shift uncomfortably in their seats as they read the entire article.
