Entry Essay:
In mid-2025, Education Week relaunched its longtime weekly print newspaper as a monthly print magazine. The new publication is, in all respects, a striking departure from the former editorial product. The magazine offers arresting visuals, compelling narrative stories, and short features meant to help EdWeek’s core audience – district and school leaders and classroom educators – slow down, reflect, and absorb information that will help them do their jobs better. Highlights from the three print issues included in this package include an in-depth story about a Louisiana school system’s restructuring to boost racial and socioeconomic diversity; a series of Q-and-As with school principals on how they’re supporting teacher morale; and collections of provocative opinion pieces framed with rich illustrations. In addition, EdWeek’s magazine is loaded with short features, sidebars, and other elements that redirect readers to an array of online resources. The magazine leaves the audience more informed about education policy and practice by immersing them in that world – through text, visuals, and much more.
