The HFMA editorial team strives to provide healthcare finance professionals with the news and analysis they need to address the many challenges that exist within the U.S. healthcare system. Successful healthcare finance professionals need to be knowledgeable about more than the healthcare industry, however — they also need to know how to lead their teams. That’s why each issue of hfm magazine includes a regular Leadership column contributed by Jill Geisler, the Bill Plante Chair in Leadership & Media Integrity, Loyola University Chicago. Jill’s columns complement the hardcore healthcare finance content HFMA provides by calling attention to current challenges that fall under the more general “leadership” or “management” categories and offer practical “how to” advice on addressing such issues. Two of Jill’s most most-read columns in 2023 addressed leading multi-generational teams and mastering the art of strategic interruption. Tackling real-life topics like these has made Jill one of hfm’s most popular columnists.
