To celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023, P&I launched its inaugural Influential Women in Institutional Investing awards program, aiming to celebrate women who are having an outsize impact on the professional investment and retirement market as well as driving positive change.

To launch this initiative, P&I in early 2023 assembled an advisory board of leading investors and key industry executives to help us shape the criteria in order to be recognized and a conference agenda. More than 220 nominations were received. Our inaugural class featured 65 women across a range of asset managers, pension funds, investment consultants, attorneys, and endowments and foundations.

A special microsite showcased the 65 winners (hover over a profile pix to read the full profile), related stories and videos, which debuted on Sept. 11. As part of the awards, we also held a conference on Sept. 14, with panels featuring top female CEOS and chief investment officers, discussions about efforts to recruit and retain women, and why diversity matters.

Visits to the microsite produced P&I's best web traffic day ever, with nearly 40,000 pageviews. And some 300 women and their supporters attended our conference.
The package also ran in our print edition on Sept. 11.
