As Food Technology anticipates its diamond anniversary in 2022, our team set out to reinvent and redesign the publication to reflect a more global perspective, digital sensibilities, and the information demands of an increasingly complex food system.
Our effort was informed by both quantitative and qualitative data, including IFT member needs assessments, readership studies, and online engagement metrics. We assessed our immediate competitors in the B2B food sector, and drew inspiration from best-in-class publications across all segments of business and science.
The new Food Technology affirms IFT's role as a thought leader in the global food ecosystem; celebrates the people driving new discoveries in the science of food; and inspires informed discussion and debate around critical issues impacting science and food product development.
Anchored by an in-depth interview with Impossible Foods' chief of nutrition, health and food safety; an inside look at PepsiCo's R&D program; and the kickoff to four-part series on food waste, the December/January issue debuts a range of content that is simultaneously practical and provocative, organized within topical sections and flexible storytelling formats that can expand or contract based on the timeliness and depth of the subject. Articles are rich with URLs and QR codes that seamlessly link to enhanced or supplemental content online, ensuring a seamless print-digital experience.
