Description of the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
The staff of tED is dedicated to the quality of the publication. From researching publication standards and best practices to investing in education and training, we are always looking to improve.
When the pandemic hit in early 2020, we realized that with no one in offices to read tED, a change had to be made...and we went digital. In late 2020 we decided that even as people return to their offices, remaining digital was the future, and feedback from our readership was encouraging. To (1) increase views and (2) realize our plan to do more concentrated issues, we moved from 12 print issues a year to 24 digital issues. Our "A Issue" releases on the 1st and is traditional tED, with a cover story along with the Current, Business, Selling, and Product sections our readers expect. Our "B Issue" releases on the 15th and covers a specific topic.
The enterprising work that went into the issues submitted is representative of what tED strives to be year-round: informative, cutting-edge, and reader inclusive. The January (A Issue) Cover Story is a deep dive about this pivotal time in the industry with NAED's Chair. Our second January issue (B) offers five articles outlining how the industry has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our February (A Issue) Cover Story provides economic and financial information specific to electrical distribution (which is rare).
The world has changed immensely over the past two years. It was important that tED change with it.
