During 2020, CIO.com’s social media presence and virtual events filled a huge need as traditional in-person events were cancelled because of COVID-19 restrictions. The site’s LinkedIn page, with its concentration of high-level technology executives, was particularly important for sustaining community and reader engagement. From Jan. 1 to Nov. 23, the CIO Online LinkedIn page:

Hosted 17 LinkedIn Live events – the CIO Leadership Live Series, live interviews with senior technology executives that included live questions submitted by viewers

Helped conduct State of the CIO research for our annual benchmarking survey

Hosted the State of the CIO research release event

Was the launch platform for multiple virtual events, including the CIO Multicloud Advantage virtual event

Increased the number of followers by 18,800

Published weekly graphics designed to engage followers

Posted more than 1,200 posts (article links, videos, etc.)

Regularly updated the banner image and links on the LinkedIn profile page with the newest special content, e.g., e-guides, digital issues, and research
