Description of the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
The staff of tED is dedicated to the quality of the publication. From researching publication standards and best practices to investing in education and training, we are always looking to improve.
The enterprising work that went into the issues submitted is representative of what tED strives to be year-round: informative, cutting-edge, and reader inclusive. The January issue's Cover Story, for example, provides economic and financial information specific to electrical distribution (which is rare). For our February issue we moved away from our traditional format to showcase the leadership offerings provided by our parent association, NAED. Finally, our March issue featured Vol. 9 of "The Electrical Distribution Handbook," which is a true community-building experience for the contributors, who appreciate the opportunity to tell their stories and share their experiences in their industry’s premiere publication.
Significance/impact:
• tED has been the industry’s No. 1 resource for news and information for more than 55 years.
• tED is consistently listed as a “top benefit” of NAED membership, with 94% of readers indicating that they have taken purchasing actions as a result of tED content, 31% reporting that they save issues for future reference, and 21 claiming that they regularly share issues of tED to their coworkers*
• tED outperforms its competition in quality and revenue: 23% of readers report that they find tED “always useful” (vs. the competition’s 13%) and 0% report that they find tED “never useful” (vs. the competition's 3%).*
