Description of the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:

In the early months of the coronavirus pandemic, men and women in the trucking industry were recognized and thanked by many for their role as essential workers, keeping food and medical supplies moving to stores and health care facilities. Transport Topics recognized some of these individuals via our Trucking’s Frontline Heroes special publication and microsite. While space didn’t allow for a full profile on every worthy nominee, we did produce a photo gallery that included a capsule look at about a dozen different contributors. We turned to the trucking community itself for nominations and welcomed photo submissions from individuals as well as companies. Editors reviewed the nominees and selected who would be depicted; then we contacted the individuals and their employers to get the story of their heroic work. Photos were given a slight filter to produce a consistent look and feel. Users can choose between autoplay or clicking through the gallery at their own pace by toggling the action button in the top left. We felt the photos and captions set an appropriate tone of recognition for the heroes who put their own health concerns aside for the sake of the country.
