Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
This particular article speaks about cyber attacks, so our editors reached out to me with the idea of creating an opening spread that conveyed the eeriness of a cyber attack. Since these attacks are usually done behind a screen, it can sometimes be impossible to know who exactly is doing the attack, and having been given an image of a hand, I had the idea to portray this hand creeping up from the corner. I combined three photos provided by Adobe Stock and/or iStock (the hand photo with a photo of a keyboard and an abstract photo of dots) to create a spooky, eery “feeling” photo with the hand creeping up from the shadows, blending in with the keyboard to portray a “cyber” attack from an unknown source. I used dark colors and a lot of blending to mesh the three photos together to give it that spooky, elusive feel.
