The Show Daily is the official print publication of the HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition which takes place annually in February or March. The HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition is the can’t-miss health information and technology event of the year with nearly 45,000 attendees from 90+ countries who come together for the education, innovation and collaboration they need to reimagine health and wellness for everyone, everywhere. The event features 300+ education sessions, innovative products and services from 1,300+ exhibiting companies, hundreds of specialty education programs and endless networking opportunities with global colleagues. The Show Daily is distributed daily onsite during the conference and features complete coverage on new products, keynote highlights, breaking news and all that’s happening on the show floor. Coverage of the conference is also provided through the Healthcare IT News website and the Hot@HIMSS newsletter which extends the reach of news and insights coming from the conference to everyone following the conference remotely. The Show Daily, Healthcare IT News and Hot@HIMSS are read by executives, managers, IT, clinical and finance functional specialists from across the healthcare ecosystem – including provider organizations, payers, government entities, pharma/biotech companies, consultancies and market suppliers.

Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:

Every year, the staffs of the three HIMSS media brands come together to create a print magazine we call the Show Daily, a combination of pre-fill articles written in the weeks leading up to the HIMSS Global Conference (which often also double as preview content on the websites), breaking news written at the show, contributed pieces from HIMSS thought leaders and vetted pieces from sponsors, as well as a resource guide that allows the magazine to be not only entertaining, but educational and indispensable for the conference’s thousands of attendees.

In 2019 our Show Daily featured coverage of speakers including CMS Administrator Seema Verma, Cleveland Clinic Chief Experience Officer Adrienne Boissy, and many other top speakers. But the highlight was an exclusive on-site interview with Epic CEO Judy Faulkner, which proved a standout in terms of web traffic as well.

Every year the Show Daily is a labor of love, but the labor aspect is very real. It takes the efforts of the whole editorial team, freelance photographers, and diligent onsite editors and designers to create the slick, densely-packed missives we hand out each day of conference.

While the Show Daily is the centerpiece of our show coverage, we also include a special collections page on Healthcare IT News that aggregates conference pieces from each of the information brands. Online coverage of HIMSS starts months in advance with preview pieces and continues for at least a month or so after as we post wrap-up coverage.
