Issue date (if applicable):
Publication name: Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology (DAIC) magazine
Publishing company: Scranton Gillette Communications
Website home page: https://www.dicardiology.com
Please describe the publication's mission and readership:
Now in its 57th year of publication, Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology (DAIC) reaches more than 25,000 cardiology medicine professionals. DAIC offers detailed product comparison charts, is the resource buying team members use for specifying, recommending and authorizing technology purchases. It is the only cardiology industry publication that reaches the complete team of physicians, department heads/chiefs and business administration/information technology staff.
DAIC has recently pushed hard with its online content to rapidly expand its digital audience using analytics, social media and intensive search engine optimization (SEO). DAIC doubled its website traffic over the past three years to 1.4 million pageviews in 2017.
Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
DAIC Editor Dave Fornell has covered advances in cardiovascular technologies, healthcare reform and radiology for the past 11 years. He has built a following among readers with his blogs, often making connections and drawing insights from the numerous subspecialty medical conferences he attends each year. Vendors have invited him to see new technologies in development after signing a nondisclosure form so they can get his feedback. He is interviewed several times a year by market analysts. Readers call him on a regular basis to ask advice or for information regarding projects they are working on at their hospitals. He has built relations with many of the key thought leaders across several cardiovascular subspecialties and is readily recognized by them at the conferences he attends. He includes them in numerous video interviews and articles each year.
He writes regular blogs for DAIC magazine. Here are three examples from 2017. The first blog was the No. 3 ranked piece of content on the DAIC website. The website finished 2017 with just over 1.4 million pageviews.
