Plastics News covers the business of the global plastics industry. It focuses on commercial, financial, legislative and market-related developments worldwide that affect North American plastic product manufacturers and their suppliers and customers. We report news, gather data and deliver timely information that provides our 46,000 weekly subscribers with a competitive advantage. Our newspaper and website serve as forums for new ideas and independent discussion of issues that concern the industry.

Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:

Plastics News Now is a weekly newscast which aims to be both informative and entertaining for those interested in the plastics industry.

Reporters and editors contribute field pieces that stretch across the globe as illustrated on the piece about the recycling industry in India. In addition, we take the show on the road at various conferences reporting from the trade show grounds, including the Fakuma trade fair in Germany in October. We take our viewers to places they often can’t go (inside competitor’s facilities, trade shows far away).

Much of the reporting done on the show is unique to the webcast and not repackaged reports from our traditional print product. We also try not to take the show too seriously, have fun and keep people engaged while delivering the news, as illustrated by our Halloween episode.
