The publication covers developments essential to the business of providing financial advice to individuals, including news about the economy, markets and investment products. Among the topics we frequently write about: mutual funds; exchange-traded funds; insurance and retirement issues; education funding; philanthropy; taxes and estate planning; and technology.
InvestmentNews also provides service journalism designed to help practitioners succeed in the business of delivering advice.

The annual InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 project aims to provide a glimpse of the tremendous potential in the financial advice industry by finding often unrecognized young talent doing remarkable things. The key attributes the editorial staff looked for among the 1,200 nominations we received in each of this project’s first two years were: accomplishment to date, contribution to the industry, leadership and promise.
The 40 Under 40 microsite was developed with the goal of providing a unique interactive experience not typically seen in the financial advice industry. Our mission was to not only create a functional, responsive microsite that could be easily navigated across all devices, but to also use creative design, video and infographics to provide a "wow factor" to our audience and generate a buzz throughout the industry.
Over the course of nearly 4 months, our editorial and digital departments met often and worked very closely to help design and optimize the microsite. A truly collaborative relationship between editorial and digital allowed digital assets to be collected smoothly, and creative ideas to be refined in a way that would work best on the platform.
In total, the microsite has generated over 175,000 pageviews and 54,000 sessions since launch, making it our most successful microsite to-date in terms of traffic generation. Compared to the previous year, the microsite has generated 108% more pageviews, 78% more visits, 16% more pages per session and a 105% increase in mobile sessions.
