The content focus of the site includes social media technologies and services, coverage of mobile devices and smart phones such as Android, iPhone, tablets and apps, as well as coverage of important trends such as data analytics, Internet of Things, wearable technology, cloud computing, security and IT strategy.
Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
The week BlackBerry released its most recent smartphone, the PRIV, CIO.com's Al Sacco worked with the site's in-house video team to create a quick, concise but hands-on video that explain the ways the smartphone, BlackBerry's first Android device, still feels like a "traditional" BlackBerry.
Sacco chose to tell this particularly story in video format, because words and images couldn't accurately display how the phone's "purely BlackBerry" features look on the Android OS. Many CIO.com readers are longtime BlackBerry users, and the insight Sacco provides in his video answers the No.1 question these readers had about PRIV: If it's an Android phone, does is still feel like a BlackBerry?
Sacco's knowledge of the BlackBerry and Android platforms sets the simple video apart, and high production value, smooth transitions, expert editing and useful b-roll that demonstrates Sacco's arguments all make the video stand out.
