Please describe the enterprising work that went into this entry and its significance or impact on readers:
In this slideshow, reporter Sharon Gaudin combined photos of technologies that NASA is working on and compared them with similar technologies that were applied and spiffed up for the movie The Martian. For the package, Gaudin interviewed NASA officials who provided greater details on the technology involved, which include land rovers, spacesuits, habitats made of fabric and methods for growing food in space. The slideshow provides a visually appealing presentation of emerging technologies that may eventually be used as NASA sets its sights on sending real-life astronauts to Mars, possibly as soon as 2030.
